Role Profile

Cyro are looking for an Delivery Manager with responsibility for service and project delivery. The successful candidate will be expected to drive efficiencies throughout the Consultancy Services team and broader company operations through development and adherence to business process, effective process adoption and change management.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to be key in developing and building project and operational delivery with a rapidly expanding security practice with significant opportunity for growth in the UK. Whilst Project Management will be the primary responsibility, the candidate will also be responsible for resource management of a 25-person strong team (circa 375 days of consultancy delivery per month) of consultants including the reporting of key delivery performance indicators to the company’s SMT.

The role will be in charge of resource management, forecasting and planning delivering a variety of projects including Penetration Testing, Governance, Risk & Compliance and deployment of Cyro Managed Service architecture (Unified Security Management – SIEM, IDS, Threat Detection & SOC services).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of target number of consultancy days per month, quarter and year across 2 teams of consultants – reconciliation of monthly delivery statistics

  • Working closely with Managing Consultants to ensure all consultants are performing effectively - utilisation reporting - and productively against delivery and personal development milestones and targets.

  • Report directly to Operations Director with presentation of operational performance and KPIs to Senior management/Executive Team

  • Responsibility for company’s project delivery framework and rigorous governance of all aspects of project/service delivery operations

  • Primary role in the leadership of all projects (internal to company and client)

  • Management, delivery and deployment of professional/managed services into client environments – acquiring full understanding of client requirements actively thereby achieving project goals and objectives to agreed budget and timescale

  • Deliver accurate project planning and Job status reporting including budget vs actual (inc forecast) status, risk identification, revenue reports, project plans, milestone reporting, lessons learned and RAG status

  • Act as main point of contact, with responsibility for the intellectual content of projects, overall effectiveness of delivery and the sensitive management of client expectations and business partner contribution(s)

  • Identification and feedback of further business opportunities and/or development of business partnerships

  • Operations & Business Performance Forecasting- provide input on individual project and sales plans; especially in terms of systems and process dependencies, product sourcing and availability of resources

  • Provide effective support to Consultants providing project status updates, elimination of project delivery constraints, provision to all required service delivery tools and on-going identification of skills gap & workflow issues requiring additional training and/or education.

  • Quality Assurance - working with others to ensure processes are followed, service quality and oversight of service quality management process

  • Assistance with the organisation of consultative pre-sales time- support the sales team with project and services guidance on client proposals and bid work.

Specific Responsibilities:

Delivery Targets

  • Ensure clear understanding of monthly, quarterly and annual delivery targets across the consultancy teams

  • Ensure that consultancy teams meet delivery targets as agreed with the Exec

  • Manage delivery risk and ensure that resource planning takes account of delivery risk in order to manage delivery to target

  • Report on forecast and achieved chargeable days in a timely fashion per reporting/performance management below

Project Framework/Governance

  • Setting Project Controls. Supporting operational/delivery processes and procedures

  • Setting Project Variation controls (managing scope changes, Issue and Risk management process, client pre-requisite task control, etc.)

  • Continuous Improvement to drive delivery efficiency

  • Process/ Procedure creation (repeatable jobs plus continuous improvement of process)

Document Set and Project Template creation and Maintenance

  • Overall Management and creation of the Project Management Document set

  • Maintenance of Project Management Document Set, Artefacts and Dashboard

Risk, Issue, Scope Management

  • Risk and Issue reporting within client Project delivery

  • Continuous scope review against delivery and review of client request

  • Escalation of Issues, Risks and Scope changes as required

  • Management of mitigation actions around Risks, Issues and Scope changes

Client Project Delivery (Including Internal Project Delivery) Management

  • Onsite Project planning, review and update

  • Creation and update of Project Overview Document (POD)

  • Creation of Project On boarding Document (Project Artefacts)

  • Update of Project Artefacts (Project Control sections)

Client Job/Project Support

  • Internal Job status review

  • Overview of Job delivery/liaise with Project Administrator for Job delivery update

  • Job planning with clients

  • Job review with clients

Client Job and Project Resource Management

  • Review of time used/time booked against budget - Delivery reconciliation

  • Client liaison to organise suitable on site times/client resource availability

  • Requests to Project Administrator for resource time for Client Project requirements

  • Client Support/Delivery

  • Client Project Management Delivery (Fee earning)

  • Single point of contact for questions and issues

Consultant Support

  • Onsite consultant representation and Project delivery

  • Project Kick Off - Team Introduction/Project Over view

  • Remote consultant support, organisation and briefing

Reporting/Performance Management

  • Project Monitoring and reporting (Budget against actual) - Delivery efficiency

  • Creation of the PMO (External Client) Dashboard (High level KPI reporting)

  • Project performance review (Delivered time against delivered milestones v available remaining time and milestones)

  • Publication of updated Project artefacts to client where requested (Progress reporting)

  • Project delivery risk review and notification of projects at risk

Communications

  • Weekly/Milestone project updates to clients (as required)

  • Project delivery status (time used, tasks completed, time remaining) to client

  • Project KO/Scheduling resourcing requirements with client

Critical Competencies:

  • Proven record of success delivering multiple projects under pressure of tight deadlines

  • Demonstratable ability to manage multiple resources and their scheduling on numerous client projects

  • Ability to identify and implement key areas of project delivery suited to systemisation/automation of process

  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and changing environment. Able to adapt to change whilst maintaining focus on key business goals and personal/team objectives

  • Demonstrate good level of business acumen and commercial awareness; show confidence in helping to identify and steer business opportunity

  • Highly experienced in documenting processes and procedures to delivery of labour led project services and on-boarding of client managed services with excellent understanding of the project lifecycle.

Desired Competencies;

Exposure or experience in the following is considered desirable:

  • Project management and service operations within the managed security services sector

  • IT Programme Management including development of Project Management Office (PMO)

  • Exposure to and understanding of service delivery against compliance regimes such as PCI DSS, ISO, SANS Top20 etc

  • Exposure to business process analysis, development, implementation and even re-engineering experience

  • Understanding and avid interest and appreciation of global cyber security landscape and practical issues faced by UK companies and/or government organisations in defending against such threats.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • BPSS cleared and eligible for SC

  • Highly experienced in the oversight and project management of delivering professional consultancy services and/or manged services (desirable within the security industry and market)

  • Self-disciplined with excellent organisational skills. Structured, methodical approach to workload with ability to prioritise multiple demands and actively enjoy working in a challenging environment

  • Proven stakeholder management skills (clients, business, suppliers and business partners)

  • Excellent communications skills; ability to collaborate across all areas of the company and externally to end users and business partners 

  • Enthusiasm towards embracing change and driving improvement to current working practices/ technologies to help and grow the business

  • Strong analytical and planning skills

  • Strong understanding and experience of creating operational performance reports

  • Highly Numeric.

  • Fully conversant with Microsoft suite of products, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams (Shifts)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central would be advantageous.
